The Tax Senior will oversee engagement workflows, ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, support high-net-worth clients, and mentor junior staff. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, hands-on experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1120, 1065 and 990 returns, and proficiency with industry software such as Lacerte and QuickBooks.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review individual, partnership, corporate and nonprofit tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1065, 990) accurately and on schedule.

Lead and manage tax engagements from planning through delivery, including client communication, data gathering, and quality review.

Provide tax planning and advisory services for high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and business owners, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liability and manage risk.

Supervise, train and mentor junior tax staff; review workpapers and ensure adherence to firm standards and best practices.

Coordinate and respond to tax notices, audits and inquiries, working directly with clients and tax authorities as needed.

Research complex federal and state tax issues, staying current on tax law changes and communicating implications to clients and the team.

Prepare and review partnership allocations and partner K-1s, S-Corp and C-Corp tax positions, and multi-state tax filings.

Utilize tax preparation and accounting software (Lacerte, QuickBooks, tax research tools) to streamline workflows and maintain accurate records.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and maintain high quality control across engagements.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact for tax matters.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Masters degree or advanced coursework in taxation is a plus.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required or CPA candidate in the final stages; Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is a plus.5+ years of progressive tax experience, with prior experience as a Tax Senior or similar role preferred.

Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1120, 1065 and 990 returns, including C-Corp and S-Corp filings.

Demonstrated experience working with high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and partnership tax issues.

Strong technical knowledge of individual, partnership and corporate tax rules and state nexus/multistate filings.

Proficiency with Lacerte tax software and QuickBooks; familiarity with tax research tools and electronic filing systems.

Excellent review, organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines and mentor junior staff.
