TOWN OF NEW CANAAN ASSESSMENT/TAXATION CLERK

The Town of New Canaan is seeking applicants for the position of Assessment /Taxation clerk. This position reports directly to the Director of Assessment and Collection. Work includes but is not limited to collection of taxes, assist staff and taxpayers in the Tax Collector Office and the Assessor office as needed, inputting information utilizing the town administration and CAMA systems for real estate, personal property and motor vehicles. Also responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under their direction and control. Qualified candidates require a high school diploma. Experience in related work in municipal assessment/collector office is preferred or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. In addition, candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills; computer skills and a high level of customer service skills. Background and pre-employment physical required.
