Then the Deputy Treasurer position in the Town of Bridgewater's Treasurer's Office may be the right fit for you! Role The Deputy Treasurer works as part of a three-member team in the Treasurer's Office. To be successful in this position, the candidate must enjoy direct interaction with the public on a regular basis, thrive in an environment that requires quick thinking and multi-tasking, possess strong analytical and math skills, and have a deep level of attention to detail (we still care about the penny!). This role's primary responsibility revolves around monthly utility billing and daily deposit reconciliation, but working in a small office means that there are a myriad of less frequent or seasonal tasks to work on. The Deputy Treasurer must be willing and able to learn a variety of revenue-related skills. Compensation The Deputy Treasurer is a full-time position with a preferred hiring range of $47,840 to $66,040 ($23.00 - $31.75 hourly); however, an exact salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications/experience. The Town offers excellent benefits including health and dental insurance, VRS retirement, and vacation and sick leave. Hours The regular hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. Responsibilities As the Deputy Treasurer, you'll: Collect revenues from off-site facilities Prepare a daily deposit based on the previous day's collected revenues Assist citizens via phone or in-person to complete business with the Treasurer's Office Manage monthly cycle of utility billing including: Printing and mailing bills Receiving and posting payments Starting and ending accounts Coordinating meter reading Process other forms of revenues as they are received including: Personal property tax Business licenses Meals tax Facility revenues Water deposits Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Experience with basic computer software (familiarity with databases a plus) Ability to calculate numbers using an adding machine Capacity to work independently and as part of a team High level of attention to detail while being able to multi-task Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills The selected candidate for this position will be subject to the following screenings and must receive satisfactory results: Criminal background check Licenses/Certifications Valid Virginia Driver's License required To apply Please submit a resume, cover letter, and three references to employment@bridgewater.town .
