Duties Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, non-profits, and other entities with a focus on compliance and accuracy. Provide expert guidance on estate planning strategies, wills, trusts & estate law to optimize client wealth transfer plans. Manage complex tax issues related to securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and private equity investments. Conduct detailed tax research on evolving regulations including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory compliance standards. Assist clients with tax reporting related to mergers & acquisitions, financial sales, asset management, and regulatory reporting requirements. Perform financial analysis including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and financial statement interpretation to support tax positions. Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks. Collaborate with audit teams on auditing procedures related to regulatory compliance accounting and technical accounting issues. Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients while providing proactive solutions for tax planning and compliance challenges. Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new services in corporate tax expertise and financial planning. Experience CPA certification required; minimum of five years' experience in public accounting or corporate tax environment. Proven expertise in individual tax preparation as well as corporate accounting practices including double entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation. Extensive knowledge of tax law including estate planning, Wills & trusts law, securities law, LIHTC programs, and non-profit accounting standards. Strong background in auditing procedures, regulatory compliance accounting (SOX), financial report writing & interpretation. Demonstrated ability to handle complex tax reporting projects involving mergers & acquisitions or private equity transactions. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar tools; familiarity with financial analysis software is a plus. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly while building trusted relationships. $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
