You are joining a growth-minded advisory firm where you will have the opportunity to develop into a trusted advisor and, ultimately, a Tax Manager. At InventWealth, we believe strong tax professionals should understand more than how to complete a return. They should understand the business behind the numbers, recognize issues and opportunities, communicate clearly with clients, and take ownership of their work. We are looking for a Tax Senior with a strong technical foundation who is ready for the next stage of their career . You do not need to walk in ready to be a Tax Manager on day one. We are looking for someone with the ability and desire to grow into that role. What This Role Is Really About Your role will focus on developing in three key areas: Technical growth — strengthening your ability to prepare and increasingly review complex tax work with sound judgment Client development — becoming more confident owning client communication and explaining tax issues clearly Leadership development — learning how to manage workflow, review junior staff work, and take greater ownership of engagements As you demonstrate your ability in these areas, your responsibilities will continue to expand with the goal of developing you into a Tax Manager . What You'll Do Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and entity tax returns Assist with the review of tax returns and gradually take on greater review responsibility Work with small businesses, entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and medical/dental practices Handle increasingly complex tax engagements as your experience develops Identify inconsistencies, potential tax issues, risks, and planning opportunities Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and keep engagements moving Explain tax concepts to clients in clear, practical language Assist with proactive tax planning and tax-saving strategies Research federal, state, and local tax issues Assist with IRS and state tax notices and other tax matters Begin reviewing and providing feedback on work prepared by junior team members Help manage engagement workflow and deadlines, particularly during busy season Work closely with firm leadership on complex client situations Take increasing ownership of client relationships and engagements as you develop What Success Looks Like Within your first 6-12 months, we want to see you progress from a strong individual contributor into someone capable of taking greater ownership.
Success will include:
Consistently producing accurate, high-quality tax work Becoming increasingly independent in managing assignments Beginning to review returns prepared by junior staff Developing confidence in direct client communication Identifying tax issues and opportunities rather than simply processing returns Managing deadlines and following through without constant oversight Developing stronger tax planning and advisory skills Demonstrating the judgment, accountability, and leadership potential required at the Tax Manager level Who You Are You are likely a strong fit if: You have approximately 3-6+ years of tax/accounting experience , ideally within public accounting You have meaningful experience preparing both individual and business tax returns You have experience with S corporations, partnerships, LLCs, corporations, and individual returns You have a strong technical tax foundation and want to continue developing your expertise You are ready to move beyond primarily preparing returns You are comfortable interacting with clients or are motivated to become stronger in this area You are organized, responsive, and accountable You can manage multiple engagements and deadlines during busy season You know when to ask questions but are also comfortable researching and solving problems independently You take ownership of your work and follow things through to completion You want increased responsibility and a genuine opportunity to move into management Strong Pluses CPA license or actively pursuing CPA licensure EA designation Experience with real estate clients Experience with closely held businesses Experience with healthcare, dental, or medical practice clients Exposure to tax planning and advisory work Experience reviewing work prepared by junior staff Who Should Not Apply This role is not for someone who: Wants to remain solely focused on tax preparation Has no interest in interacting with clients Doesn't want responsibility beyond completing assigned returns Needs constant direction to keep work moving Isn't interested in developing review or leadership skills Wants a maintenance role rather than a growth opportunity Your Path to Tax Manager This position is intentionally designed for someone who may not be ready for the Tax Manager title today but has the potential and desire to grow into it . As you demonstrate your capabilities, you'll progressively take on greater responsibility across: Preparation → Review → Client Ownership → Tax Planning → Staff Development → Engagement Ownership → Tax Manager There is no arbitrary timeline for advancement. Growth will be based on your ability to demonstrate the technical judgment, communication skills, accountability, client management, and leadership required at the next level. Our goal is to develop our next Tax Manager from within. Why InventWealth We are building a firm that values judgment, communication, and advisory thinking—not just production volume. We believe tax work should create clarity and confidence for clients, and we want our team members to understand the people and businesses behind the numbers. This mirrors the firm's existing emphasis on client confidence, technical excellence, operational stability, and proactive advisory work. If you're a strong Tax Senior who is ready for more responsibility and wants an opportunity to develop into management, we should talk.
