This is a seasonal position with the majority of the work taking place during tax season. Hours will generally range from 20-40 hours per week , depending on workload and availability. For the right person, there may be an opportunity to continue working with us beyond tax season on a part-time or longer-term basis. We are looking for someone who enjoys tax preparation, takes pride in doing quality work, and appreciates working with a professional but friendly team. What You'll Do Prepare accurate individual and business tax returns Work with federal and state tax returns using ProConnect tax software Review client documents and identify missing or additional information needed Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person regarding tax questions and documentation Work with the tax team to meet filing deadlines and manage the seasonal workload Follow IRS requirements and Maverick's internal procedures Assist with client questions and tax-related issues as needed What We're Looking For Previous tax preparation experience is required Experience preparing individual returns; business return experience is a plus ProConnect experience is preferred but not required TaxDome experience is a plus but not required Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Good organizational and time-management skills Comfortable communicating directly with clients Able to work independently while also being a team player Must be located in the Denver/Wheat Ridge area and able to commute to our Wheat Ridge office Schedule & Compensation Seasonal hours: approximately 20-40 hours per week At least 2 days per week in the office Additional flexibility may be available based on experience, workflow, and performance $22-$35 per hour , based on experience and qualifications Potential for continued part-time or longer-term work beyond tax season for the right candidate What We Offer Seasonal schedule with the potential for continued work beyond tax season Flexibility while maintaining a collaborative team environment Supportive, close-knit team Opportunity to work with an established and growing tax practice Professional but relaxed work environment Opportunity to work with a variety of individual and small-business tax clients About Maverick Maverick Tax & Bookkeeping Services is a growing tax and accounting firm providing tax preparation, bookkeeping, and tax resolution services to individuals and small businesses.
