We are a growing professional CPA services firm seeking a sharp, detail-oriented tax professional to join our team immediately. This is a dual-role opportunity supporting both our Compliance (Tax) Department and our Audit Division. Key ResponsibilitiesTax / Compliance (primary focus initially) Prepare, review, and assist with filing individual and corporate tax returns Help track and manage the full lifecycle of compliance department tax returns Work closely with our Director of Compliance to ensure accurate, timely preparation and filing Maintain organized records and support overall tax compliance processes Audit Division Prepare audit work papers using our Audit software (training provided) Learn Audit Software thoroughly and then leverage AI tools to streamline and enhance work paper preparation Support the audit team with accurate, well-documented work papers Ideal Candidate Proven experience as a tax professional / tax preparer (individual and/or corporate returns required) Strong understanding of tax return preparation and compliance processes Quick learner with solid analytical skills and attention to detail — prior audit experience is a plus but not required Comfortable learning new software and applying AI tools to improve efficiency Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with the team Local to the Southern Pines / Forest Creek / Pinehurst, NC area (or willing to relocate) preferred, as the role will transition from remote to in-office next year
