Job Description

Licensed Tax Preparer D&S Bookkeeping & Tax Service, a trusted and established firm in Roseburg, Oregon, is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Licensed Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Oregon Tax Preparer License, demonstrate strong tax preparation experience, and be committed to providing accurate, high-quality service to individual and business clients.

WE ARE WILLING TO HELP TRAIN YOU AND ACQUIRE YOUR OREGON TAX PREPARER LICENSE.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct client interviews to collect and verify necessary tax documents and financial information. Review financial records, bookkeeping reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Identify all relevant tax information through due diligence questioning and client communication. Prepare and file accurate federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses. Ensure compliance with current IRS regulations and Oregon state tax laws. Maintain organized client records and uphold strict confidentiality standards. Communicate with clients regarding tax preparation status, questions, and follow-up items. Stay current on tax law updates, regulations, and filing requirements.

Qualifications:

Valid Oregon Tax Preparer License (required). Willing to train and help you acquire your Oregon tax preparer license. Experience in tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial services. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction. Ability to manage multiple deadlines during tax season and year-round workloads. Proficiency with tax software and general office/computer systems. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
