Daytime hours We are a small, established tax and accounting firm serving businesses and individuals throughout Virginia Beach and the surrounding area. Our firm provides year-round bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll support, along with tax preparation services for individuals, businesses, estates and trusts, and nonprofit organizations. We are looking for an experienced Tax & Accounting Professional to join our team. This position is best suited for someone who is comfortable handling a variety of tax preparation and accounting responsibilities and who takes pride in producing accurate, dependable, and thorough work for our clients. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have substantial experience preparing both individual and business tax returns. Approximately 3 years of tax experience and 2 years of accounting experience is preferred. The following credentials are a plus: CPA Enrolled Agent (EA) Registered Tax Preparer Strong computer skills are required, including the ability to learn and efficiently use tax and accounting software. Experience with ProSeries and Sage 50 Accounting is preferred but not required. Responsibilities Depending on experience and workload, responsibilities may include: Preparing individual and corporate/business tax returns Researching tax regulations and addressing tax-related questions Performing various accounting and bookkeeping functions Setting up and organizing new client accounts from beginning to end Communicating with clients and responding to requests for information Corresponding with the IRS and state taxing authorities Handling occasional administrative and office-related duties Assisting with other tax and accounting needs as they arise Schedule & Availability This is an in-person position , and candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Virginia Beach. There is no remote-work option. Daytime availability is required. During tax season, weekly hours may increase, depending on client volume, and some Saturdays may be necessary. Once tax season ends, the workload may decrease substantially. Hours during the remainder of the year may be reduced or offered on an as-needed basis , depending on the firm's needs. We are also willing to consider an experienced part-time/as-needed subcontractor for this position.
