Manzanos Enterprises

VP Finance and Operations

Job Description

VP of Finance & Operations Run the business, own the numbers, and sell. A golf cart dealer in Winter Haven, Florida is hiring its first VP of Finance & Operations. We are a golf cart dealership in
Winter Haven, Central Florida:
an eight-figure business with a fortress reputation in our market, a team that stays, and thousands of customers who would not buy anywhere else. We stock seven brands, several of which no other dealer in our area carries, and we sell, service, deliver and finance them ourselves. The business is now being rebuilt for its next phase: a modern dealer management system, a CRM, e-commerce, online financing approvals, a rental fleet, an expanded service operation, a reimagined experience center, and a second location on the horizon. This is a newly created seat, reporting directly to the CEO, for the person who will own the numbers, build the systems, and help sell the carts. About the group behind this hire. This search is run by Manzanos Enterprises, a family-owned international group with businesses in wine, bottled water, real estate and industrial services. We invest on a ten-year horizon rather than a three-year one, the owner is personally involved in the business, and the person in this seat is central to making the plan work.
Understand this before you apply:
in a dealership our size, everyone sells. This is not a back-office finance role with a commercial footnote. You will be on the floor, in front of customers, closing fleet accounts and coaching the sales team, and you will be measured on it alongside the P&L. If that is not the job you want, this is not the seat for you. What you'll own The P&L, the cash and the controls. P&L versus budget with a real explanation for every variance. A daily sales and cash flash report to the CEO. Dual-approval spending controls, audit-ready books, and bank and covenant reporting. The commercial number. You own the commercial dashboard alongside our
General Manager and Sales Manager:
units sold, gross profit per unit, lead response time, close rate, financing attach rate, accessory and service revenue per unit. You will personally carry a book of fleet and B2B accounts — HOAs, 55+ communities, resorts, golf courses, developers, municipalities and property managers across Polk County and beyond — and you will be expected to close them. You will also design and launch our sales commission and incentive plan, and then coach the team to beat it. Inventory and floor plan. You decide what we stock, when we stock it, and how much we borrow to do it. Floor plan lines, aging, turn, trade-in valuation, reconditioning spend and its return. Roughly 60% of our year happens between October and March, so the pre-season inventory bet is worth more to this business than any cost you will ever cut. The systems. You are the project owner for our new dealer management system, covering accounting, inventory, parts, service and CRM, and rolled out department by department across the whole business. Not the sponsor. The owner. Growth. Model and launch the new revenue lines: rental fleet, e-commerce, service contracts, express service. Build the business case for a second location and defend it in front of the CEO and our lenders. The partnership. Our General Manager runs parts, service and sales, and runs them well. You are their counterpart, not their supervisor: you take the finance and administrative load off the operating team so they can spend their time on customers, and together you build the reporting and standards that let this business double. Who we're looking for 5+ years of finance leadership — Controller, Finance Manager, Director of Finance, VP Finance or equivalent. You close the books yourself; you have not spent your career reviewing someone else's work. A genuine commercial track record. A finance leader who has never sold anything will not succeed here. Small-company experience. You have worked somewhere under 50 people, where the answer to "who does this?" is usually "you do". Fluent English and Spanish will be valued. Systems hands-on. ERP or DMS implementation experience is a major plus, whether in a dealership, automotive, powersports, equipment, retail or distribution setting. Operator's temperament. Comfortable on a showroom floor and in a service bay, not only in a spreadsheet. Trusted quickly by technicians, customers, vendors and bankers alike. On-site in Polk County, or ready to relocate. This job does not work remotely. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent experience. CPA or MBA welcome, neither required. What we offer Annual performance bonus against a clear scorecard of profit, cash and unit sales. Overperformance is paid, not congratulated. The number-two-to-the-owner seat, with real authority from day one and a path to broader leadership as the group grows. The chance to build the systems and standards rather than inherit them, in a profitable, debt-light business with a loyal customer base and a team that stays. Paid time off.
