Controller Greenwood, IN (100% on-site) $120-140k plus bonus We're partnering with a growing construction company based in Greenwood, Indiana, to identify a Controller to lead its accounting function. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with construction industry experience who wants to take ownership of the financial operations of an established, growing organization. Position Overview The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, job costing, and internal controls. This role will partner closely with company leadership and project teams to ensure accurate financial visibility across projects and the business as a whole. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close Manage job costing and WIP (work-in-progress) reporting across active construction projects Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Partner with project managers and leadership on project profitability and cost tracking Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, bonding agents, and tax preparers Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff Ensure compliance with relevant tax, regulatory, and bonding/surety requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Construction accounting experience required, including job costing and WIP reporting Experience with Vista Viewpoint preferred Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting Proven leadership and team management skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally with project teams CPA preferred
