Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Financial Planning and Analysis professional with the capacity to oversee duties of company Controller as well. The successful candidate will have strong leadership qualities to guide our financial operations and accounting team. This pivotal role oversees all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls. As a senior business leader, you will drive accurate financial analysis, support strategic decision-making, and uphold regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for the right individual to lead the Financial Planning and Accounting department of a growing, mission-driven business. Responsibilities Oversee the management of the general ledger, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Manage cash flow forecasting and cash management activities to optimize liquidity and support operational needs. Prepare detailed financial reports, including monthly and annual Balance Sheets and Income Statements Conduct technical accounting research on complex issues related to non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, or other specialized sectors as needed.
Budgeting:
create financial plans that outline expected revenues and expenses over a specific period
Forecasting:
estimate future financial outcomes based on historical data and market trends
Variance Analysis:
Compare actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts
Strategic Planning:
Support long-term business strategies by analyzing financial data and market conditions Manage and supervise the accounting team Requirements Proven experience in accounting leadership roles with a strong understanding of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance and reporting standards. Strong work history in management and team leadership Extensive knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping, etc. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar platforms Strong background in governmental or non-profit accounting is highly desirable Proficiency in financial management tools is essential, with a strong background in balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data into clear reports; experience in financial report writing is preferred. Exceptional organizational skills combined with a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field CPA certification or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
