Job Overview We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Finance to lead our financial operations with precision and insight. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in financial management within nonprofit or healthcare settings, demonstrating a strong grasp of accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. As Director of Finance, you will oversee all fiscal activities, ensuring sustainable growth and adherence to industry regulations while supporting our mission to serve vulnerable populations effectively. Duties Serve as member of the Leadership Team providing financial leadership and strategic guidance that supports organizational growth and sustainability. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and analysis to inform decision-making. Manage all aspects of accounting functions such as general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and cost control measures. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards including IAS (International Accounting Standards), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and industry-specific regulations. Supervise the finance team's operations, fostering professional development and ensuring high performance standards. Oversee treasury management activities including cash flow analysis, investment oversight, and banking relationships. Provide oversight of the organization's billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely billing for services and effective management of accounts receivable. Lead and oversee the annual budget development process, ensuring responsible fiscal planning, effective resource allocation, and alignment with the organization's strategic priorities and financial goals. Prepare and present quarterly financial reports for the Board of Directors, the Executive Board and the Finance Committee. Coordinate with external auditors and ensure the timely completion of the annual financial audit. Manage compliance with all required federal, state, and local financial filings, including the annual IRS Form 990. Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives such as business development opportunities and financial modeling for new programs or services. Provide leadership and oversight for managers of essential administrative and operational functions, ensuring efficient and effective agency operations across maintenance, administrative support, food service, and the agency thrift store. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. CPA designation strongly preferred. Proven experience in financial management within nonprofit or healthcare sectors with extensive knowledge of governmental accounting practices and regulatory reporting requirements. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Proficiency in financial software applications and advanced Excel data analysis techniques. Excellent understanding of industry-specific financial regulations along with technical proficiency in financial report writing and interpretation. $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
