Mon-Thurs 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Friday 8:00am-2:00pm
Pay Rate:
$120,000.00 - $130,000.00

Position Summary The Assistant Financial Controller will be responsible for hands-on management of the accounting function responsible for accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and operational support. This position will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process ensuring accuracy and timeliness. They will also oversee inventory and fixed asset accounting (capex) as well as coordinate year-end audits and support tax preparation. This position will also play a key role in monitoring customer credit risk and collections as well as assist with banking relationships, reconciliations, and treasury activities to improve cash flow and support cash forecasting. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial close process delivering accuracy and timeliness of all accounting activities
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure account reconciliations are completed timely
  • Coordinate year-end audits, support tax preparation, and maintain compliance with lender reporting requirements and covenant calculations
  • Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliations, coordinate physical / cycle counts, review valuation and reserves, and monitor turns as well as slow moving or obsolete inventory
  • Maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with company policy and GAAP, and develop/document accounting policies / procedures
  • Support working capital and cash flow optimization initiatives by contributing to cash management and providing treasury support
  • Performs balance sheet reconciliations and assists in cash flow forecasting to provide financial insights supporting strategic decision-making
  • Manage capital expenditures, fixed asset accounting, and depreciation
  • Monitor and analyze customer credit risk and collections
  • Support ERP governance, accounting master data, and financial system integrity
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, streamline workflows, and strengthen financial controls
  • Provide AP, AR, Payroll accounting oversight
  • Perform Ad Hoc analysis and provide financial support as needed Qualifications
  • Understanding of technical accounting principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Training or experience in computer applications - ERP experience preferred
  • Balance sheet and working capital management
  • High attention to detail while maintaining strategic perspective
  • Continuous improvement mindset Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent plus experience
  • 7-10 years' of progressive accounting experience
  • Manufacturing and cost accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls, GAAP, and cash management principles
  • Experience in ERP systems (DEACOM a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
