Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Controller position for the US Subsidiary of a foreign company, based in Reno, Nevada. The Controller leads the accounting, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and core controllership activities for the Company's U.S. operations. The role is accountable for ensuring timely, accurate, and reliable financial information while supporting sound governance, regulatory compliance, and effective business decision-making.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Financial and operational reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis;Payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related accounting processes;U.S. regulatory, tax, and statutory compliance requirements; andInternal controls, financial governance practices, and process improvement initiatives.
As a key member of the finance leadership team, the Controller provides financial insight to support operational and strategic priorities. The role also serves as the primary finance liaison between the U.S. subsidiary and the foreign parent organization, supporting cross-border reporting, planning, intercompany transactions, and other corporate finance initiatives as assigned.
They oversee a team of two in accounting locally.
This role is a key partner with operational leaders in providing financial analysis and business insight.
Experience8-12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Minimum 3-5 years in a senior accounting leadership role.
Experience within a multinational organization preferred.
Experience supporting a U.S. subsidiary reporting to a foreign parent company is an asset.
Minimum Required EducationBachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA designation or similar is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of IFRS reporting and consolidation requirements.
Knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax compliance requirements.
Experience with IFS ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
Experience with inventory accounting and multi-location operations is preferred.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Ability to work closely with a senior management team.
