$170- $215K, plus bonus and equity (Hybrid) A well-funded, Boston-area startup preparing to commercialize a category-defining automation platform is seeking a Director of Finance to build and scale its finance and accounting function.
The Role:
- Build the finance/accounting function from the ground up
- Establish a scalable month-end close and financial reporting environment
- Prepare the company to produce auditable financial statements
- Evaluate and implement a new ERP/accounting system
- Develop inventory and hardware/asset tracking processes
- Coordinate tax matters and outside accounting providers
- Build scalable processes to support increasing revenue and transaction volume
- Leverage AI tools within the finance function
Ideal Profile :
- Startup experience required, ideally in a pre-revenue to sub
- 50M environment
- Proven ability to build or significantly develop an accounting/finance function
- Hands-on Controller/accounting foundation with broader finance capabilities
- Comfortable operating with limited existing infrastructure and resources
- Adaptable and pragmatic, with the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
- Strong communication and business-partnering skills
- AI proficiency and demonstrated use of AI tools required
- CPA preferred, but not required This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building rather than inheriting a finance organization and wants to play a key role in scaling an early-stage company.
