HOURLY/DOE SUMMARY:

Responsible for the financial, accounting, purchasing functions, including regulatory compliance, audits and internal controls, of the Accounting Department. Oversees and makes recommendations for improving the effectiveness, efficiency and internal control structure of Grand River Casino's (GRC's) financial/accounting systems.

DUTIES & RESPOSIBILITIES

The Finance Director is responsible for the GRC's financial/accounting systems and associated internal controls, assuring that such systems meet or exceed the requirements defined by the applicable Federal, State and Tribal laws, rules and regulations, including the

IGRA, IRS, NIGC MICS, SD

Compact, Standing Rock Gaming Ordinance and the Management Agreement in force. This responsibility includes that the accounting records are maintained and financial statements are prepared according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Finance Director's responsibilities encompass the maintenance of the books of account; maintenance of the GRC's bank accounts; GRC cash management; preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports, preparation of the annual budget; the processing and payment of payroll and accounts payable, billing and receipt of accounts receivable; daily audits of the casino (slots, table games and cage) and food & beverage, convenience store, Lodge, gift shop, arcade, campgrounds, Gold Club revenues; purchasing functions, preparation/filing of information in conformity with the applicable regulatory agencies. The Finance Director will help coordinate all financial audits, including the annual audits conducted by an independent auditing firm and the associated filings of the audit report. Helps prepare & reviews monthly financial statements and/or reports with the VP of Finance. The position is also responsible for any other projects/tasks necessary to protect the financial integrity of GRC and other financial responsibilities and projects as required by the General Manager. Employee shall comply with all BSA/AML regulations, reporting, and training requirements - Specifically those in the Grand River Casino Written System of Internal Controls (and appendices) for BSA/AML Compliance.

PREREQUISITES

Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a "Key" Tribal Gaming License.

EDUCATION

High School or GED required. Four-year business or accounting degree preferred. CPA and/or MBA preferred. Strong mathematical, analytical and oral/written communication skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively in the primary languages used in workplace.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of four years casino/corporate accounting experience with minimum of two years of direct supervisory experience of a financial/accounting departmental staff responsible for all accounting responsibilities. Computer literate with a strong knowledge of WORD, EXCEL, Microsoft Dynamics (or other accounting software). 10 key by touch and data entry skills. Speed and accuracy required.
