Job Description:
Controller (42192) Our client is an organization in the Green Bay area looking for a Controller . Our client is looking for an experienced accounting leader with strong technical expertise, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to operate effectively within a collaborative environment. This individual will lead the accounting function, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and serve as a key partner to organizational leadership. The salary range for this position is $150k-200k . The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and oversee the organization's accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including the review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Ensure financial statements are prepared accurately and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance on complex accounting matters. Develop, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Maintain a hands-on approach to accounting operations and assist with detailed accounting work when needed. Partner closely with executive leadership and other departments to provide financial insights and support business decision-making. Coordinate external audits and serve as a primary point of contact for auditors and other external partners. Oversee financial reporting and ensure leadership has timely and accurate information to support strategic decisions. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting capabilities, systems, and operational efficiency. Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and other financial planning activities. Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as needed. The Controller will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA certification required. Significant progressive accounting experience, including proven accounting leadership experience. Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting required. Experience leading financial close processes, financial statement preparation, and internal controls. Combination of public accounting and private industry experience preferred, but not required. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting professionals. Hands-on leadership style with the willingness and ability to work within the details when necessary. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Collaborative and team-oriented approach with the ability to succeed within a flat organizational structure. Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with day-to-day accounting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
