Job Description
Company Details Responsibilities The Intern will train with key team members in underwriting, operations and claims to learn and participate in the Berkley Edge underwriting and claims process as a resume builder and stepping stone to a future career in the insurance industry.
- Train with key team members in underwriting, operations and claims to learn and participate in the Berkley Edge underwriting and claims process
- Utilize strong analysis skills in accordance with service standards, objectives, and underwriting guidelines
- Complete a final project incorporating items learned throughout the internship
- Work independently, both on a remote and potential hybrid-based in-person schedule through the summer months
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support business partners
- Participate in the 10-week, paid internship running Monday, June 1, 2026 through Thursday, August 6, 2026
Qualifications Qualifications:
- GPA of 3.0 and above required
- Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career-related work experience within the industry
- Career interest in underwriting or claims in Excess and Surplus Lines
- Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Prior work experience preferred
- Rising Junior or Senior student preferred
- Pursuit of a bachelor's degree with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance, or a related program/field preferred
- This is a temporary summer internship and therefore does not offer a benefits package Education Requirement
