About the unit The Surgery Department has 3 operating rooms, 2 endo suites, c-section room and supports other services including manometry and bronchoscopy. It is the busiest regional site performing roughly 200 more procedures than other top performing regional sites monthly. We see a variety of cases including multi-specialty, ortho, general OB/GYN, urology, dentistry, Ear Nose and Throat, and bariatric. Scope of work Assists in the preparation, delivery, and clean-up of patient care during the intra-operative phase. Contributes to the smooth operation of the unit. Obtains and organizes necessary equipment, sterile supplies, and instruments for each surgical case. Assembles surgical supplies for rooms and case tables. Opens sterile supplies for surgical procedures. Cleans equipment (including decontamination and sterilization of instruments), work areas and reusable supplies and returns unneeded equipment to appropriate department.
