SUMMARY:
Advanced professional work providing direct services through group, individual, or family sessions. May specialize to some degree, i.e. children, adolescents, etc. with approved training.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Carries a caseload and maintains clinical records. 2. Consults with referral sources. 3. May present consultation and education programs to the public. 4. Ensures continuity of care. 5. Performs other reasonable, related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management, as required. 6. Responsible for the storage and protection of consumer records, including compliance with the Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the fundamental types of emotional and behavioral disturbances and abnormalities. Ability to establish effective working and professional relationships with staff, consumers, families of consumers, and referral sources. Flexibility; ability to organize, schedule, communicate, and monitor. Ability to effectively apply therapeutic techniques and complete required paperwork. Must demonstrate the ability to work well with staff and clients in a polite, respectful and dignified manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited university in a behavioral science Two years post master's preferred. Valid AL driver's license Background check required
