Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Adjunctive Therapist (Recreation, Music, Art, Dance,) is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, treatment planning, group and individual therapy treatments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Plans and implements the program's activity therapy program, including planning of daily events, special events.
Familiar with art, music, physical activity and creative expression for group.
Conducts activity therapy group sessions and individual sessions as needed, displaying good theoretical knowledge of group principles and good group techniques.
Completes activity therapy evaluations and progress notes in a prescribed timeframe and high-quality fashion.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Participates in multidisciplinary treatment staffing meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Licensing:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, , dance therapy).
Board Certification required from field of study (Recreation, Music, Art , Dance)
CPR certification within thirty (30) days and maintain current.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute psychiatric setting, preferred.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:
Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population.
Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
Vision:
see details of objects at close range.
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.
Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.
