Job Description

This is a Part-Time ONSITE non-benefited position offering competitive salary, great benefits, and culture as well as excellent growth opportunities. We are looking for a Part-Time candidate in Portland, ME. Role is 1 day (and may increase to 2 or 3 days ) per week. Hours are likely 8:00 am-4:30 pm and will be confirmed with offer.   • About this position We are seeking a passionate wellness professional/acute care provider to provide on-site injury management, ergonomics, and one-on-one health behavior change interventions for our client.
You will promote a healthy culture and strive to engage employees in the company's well-being offerings. This candidate will serve as a wellness ambassador and role model.
Responsibilities and Duties NOTE:
You MUST be an Athletic Trainer through the BOC
  • NATA (not a personal trainer). Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide triage and acute services to various trades for City employees and construction site employees
  • Effectively communicate with medical direction/oversight
  • Provide one-to-one health coaching for workers
  • Lead stretch, flex, and focusTM warm-up sessions for various workers onsite
  • Work closely with safety committees, union representatives, and foremen to provide wellness education to the population
  • Create and deploy health promotion, education, activities, and challenges
  • Track health behavior change using proprietary health coaching software
  • Conduct in-person health risk assessments, drug screens, and biometric screens (training provided)
Requirements:
Exceptional interpersonal, organization, and communication skills required Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, walk on uneven surfaces (dirt, rock, mud, etc.), walk several flights of stairs per day, be exposed to various environmental & lighting conditions, and assist injured individuals on/off work areas
Preferred:
Experience with industrial setting Trained to provide cholesterol and blood pressure screenings Experience with motivational interviewing Adept at counseling individuals from diverse backgrounds
Qualifications and Skills Education Requirements:
Required:
BS Degree in Community Health Education or related field
Required:
Certified Athletic Trainer through the
BOC, NATA
This is an ONSITE role.
