Position Summary:
This position reports to the Head Athletic Trainer. As a student assistant for the Athletic Training department, your primary role is to assist the Head and Assistant Athletic Trainers in providing the highest level of care at Valley City State University. Ability to work football games is required. Work schedule is subject to change based on the demands of athletic activity e.g., practices, games, treatment times. Students are expected to be on time and not to leave early. Daily field set-up and tear down as well as other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess an understanding of and respect for the confidential nature of the information handled in the Athletic Training Room and maintain healthcare privacy and confidentiality. Reliable, punctual, dependable, and high level of integrity Ability to provide basic wound care/first aid Familiar with physical demands of collegiate athletics Situational awareness
Preferred Qualifications:
First Aid/CPR certified Working toward major in related health care field Course work related to healthcare/sports medicine (i.e.: care and prevention of athletic injuries, upper and lower extremity evaluation, anatomy, and physiology etc.)
