Job Description

Metropolitan Ministries, Inc., a faith-based nonprofit serving homeless and at-risk families in Tampa Bay, seeks a Registered Behavior Technician to deliver high-quality ABA services in shelter, classroom, and community settings. Under BCBA supervision, you will implement behavior plans, collect accurate data, support communication and daily living skills, and assist with crisis prevention using trauma-informed strategies. You will collaborate closely with caregivers, staff, and community partners, uphold ethical and faith-respectful practices, and document services for compliance while helping families move toward long-term stability. Responsibilities Implement behavior intervention plans under BCBA supervision for children and families experiencing homelessness or crisis Collect and record accurate behavioral data and progress notes in accordance with Medicaid and agency standards Support skill-building in communication, daily living, and social skills in shelter, classroom, and community settings Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary staff to generalize skills across environments Maintain client safety, dignity, and confidentiality while modeling trauma-informed, faith-respectful care Assist in crisis prevention and de-escalation using approved behavior strategies and protocols Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision to ensure treatment fidelity and continuous improvement Educate caregivers on behavior strategies and reinforce carryover at home and in community programs Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by the BACB and Metropolitan Ministries Document services timely for billing, compliance, and outcome tracking Required Skills Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) implementation Behavior data collection and graphing Behavior intervention plans (BIP) implementation Crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques Electronic health record or clinical documentation systems Medicaid or insurance documentation standards Trauma-informed care practices Functional communication training Parent and caregiver coaching Interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration
