Classroom Counselor (Day shift: M-F 7/7:30-4pm) Pay range
  • $28-32
Duties:
  • Provide counseling services to individuals with special needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism.
  • Implement behavioral therapy techniques to support the development and progress of clients.
  • Conduct assessments and collect data to track client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers and parents, to create individualized treatment goals and strategies.
  • Create and implement behavior intervention plans to address challenging behaviors.
  • Provide support and guidance to families of clients, offering resources and strategies for managing behaviors at home.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client sessions, progress, and any incidents or observations.
Experience:
  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with special needs is preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), is a plus.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to inform treatment decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with special needs.

  • Valid Drivers license
