Job Summary The Behavioral Specialist plays a critical role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, by implementing behavioral therapy techniques and providing compassionate care. This position involves working closely with children and adults to assess their needs, develop tailored intervention strategies, and monitor progress. The Behavioral Specialist will collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients. Responsibilities Conduct intake assessments to gather relevant information about clients' behavioral health needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis principles. Collect and analyze data to track client progress and adjust interventions as necessary. Provide direct support and patient care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and share insights on client progress. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records and behavioral assessments, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate clients and their families about behavioral strategies and techniques to promote positive outcomes. Participate in diagnostic evaluations as needed to inform treatment planning. Skills Proficiency in behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis. Experience working with children and individuals with disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Strong skills in data collection and analysis for monitoring client progress. Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs. Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation standards, and patient assessment protocols. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
