Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) | Richmond Community ServicesWhat if your clinical expertise could do more than treat symptoms or write reports?

Were looking for a thoughtful, confident, and compassionate Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our growing clinical team in Westchester County. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being both a clinician and a coachsomeone who can translate behavioral science into practical strategies that staff can use and individuals can benefit from.

What Makes This Role Different?

You wont be sitting behind a desk all day.

Youll be in the programs, with the teams, and alongside the people we support. Youll see your recommendations put into action and have the opportunity to measure whether theyre actually making a difference.
Youll:
Develop and oversee individualized Behavior Support Plans that promote meaningful outcomes and quality of life.

Analyze behavioral data and turn it into practical clinical recommendations.

Observe individuals in their residential environments and identify opportunities to strengthen supports.

Coach and mentor Direct Support Professionals so they feel confident implementing behavioral strategies.

Partner with program leaders and interdisciplinary teams to create consistent, effective supports.

Respond thoughtfully to behavioral challenges and help teams understand the why behind the behavior.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that strengthen behavioral services across the organization.

Champion dignity, respect, choice, and person-centered care in everything you do.

You bring sound judgment, professionalism, and a supportive presence to challenging situations.

What Youll BringMaster's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field.

Post-master's experience in a behavioral or clinical setting.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities strongly preferred.

Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) at the master's level preferred.

Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to explain complex behavioral concepts in clear, practical language.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Flexibility to work some late afternoons, early evenings, and occasional weekends.
