PRIMARY PURPOSE

Support the district mission and strategic plan by providing leadership, expertise in training, problem solving, and support to teachers, administrators, parents, and students served by special education.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Effective communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills Knowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning for educational purposes Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions Knowledge of social development Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience providing applied behavior analysis services in an educational setting (Internship with school district preferred)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide behavioral services for students with Autism and other developmental disabilities referred by Pasadena ISD, educators, parents, and related school personnel. Provide functional behavior assessments and treatment of challenging behavior (aggression, self-injury, disruption, noncompliance, stereotypic behavior, etc.) Assess school-readiness skills and identify effective educational interventions. Develop and disseminate training materials for teachers and related school personnel. Provide the school district with assistance in district training programs. Provide weekly progress reports to the designated PISD contact coordinator. Assist Behavior specialists with behavior analysis for Special Education student success. Demonstrate integrity and ethics. Display proficient levels of technology applications. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings. Meet task completion deadlines established by the supervisor. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal) Manage and utilize data effectively for systemic process and program analysis. Account for the accuracy and verification of all student program data and reports. Implement data-driven decision making for improvement efforts based on best practices. Account for the verification of the correct policy regarding all decisions and correspondence. Implement effective policy-driven decision making. Provide CPI training throughout the year and advise staff on proper CPI interventions in high behavior situations Supervise registered behavior technicians and/or BCBA interns Maintain a working knowledge of district and campus restraint and/or discipline data and assist with intervention and/or TEA reporting as needed Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
