Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our dynamic ambulatory surgery center team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a wide range of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety. Your expertise in electrical diagnostics, mechanical skills, and biomedical electronics will directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced medical devices in a fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs on diverse biomedical equipment using OEM manuals, schematics, and test equipment operation guidelines. Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical components and electronic systems utilizing advanced electronics troubleshooting techniques. Conduct electrical diagnostics and equipment troubleshooting to identify faults accurately and efficiently. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to facilitate precise repairs and maintenance. Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document service activities, track equipment history, and schedule future maintenance tasks. Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with biomedical regulatory standards such as ISO standards and healthcare industry regulations. Collaborate with clinical staff to understand equipment issues, provide technical support, and deliver excellent customer service during field service visits. Qualifications Proven experience in biomedical engineering or as a Biomedical Equipment Technician within healthcare settings. Strong knowledge of OEM equipment specifications, calibration procedures, and test equipment operation for biomedical devices. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, schematic reading, and interpretation of electrical diagrams. Mechanical skills for biomedical equipment repair including the use of hand tools and mechanical troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) standards and biomedical regulatory compliance requirements. Experience working with electro-mechanical components, medical electronics, and advanced electronics troubleshooting. Ability to perform field service tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality assurance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff.
