Job Description

The coding technician shall participate as a member of the health record services department in providing accurate, timely and complete data for the hospital's patient care information system. This data is used for accumulating needed statistics, for carrying out studies for the hospital's performance improvement program, and as a means of arriving at decisions regarding effective management of patient care, and for the forecasting healthcare needs and services.

Status:

Full time, 40 hours

Qualities:

Well organized, excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.

Requirements:

CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA required or eligible to sit for credential and pass within 1 year of employment. 3 years of experience utilizing ICD-10-CM, PCS and CPT is preferred. Knowledgeable with third party payment systems and 3M coding software. Knowledgeable in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. The pay range for this position is $23.26 to $45.05 per hour, based on relevant education, qualifications, and experience
