Our team of highly trained physicians and certified technicians utilize advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and maintain the highest standards of quality. Job Overview The Echocardiography Technician is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular diseases. The technician operates specialized ultrasound equipment, ensures patient comfort and safety, and maintains accurate clinical documentation while adhering to established healthcare standards. Key Responsibilities Perform adult stress echocardiograms as required. Conduct transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and stress echocardiography procedures. Prepare patients by explaining procedures and obtaining relevant medical histories. Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment according to manufacturer and facility guidelines. Acquire and optimize diagnostic-quality cardiac ultrasound images. Record and document examination findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist cardiologists during specialized diagnostic procedures. Monitor patient condition throughout examinations and respond appropriately to emergencies. Maintain infection prevention and control practices. Ensure compliance with departmental policies, quality assurance standards, and accreditation requirements. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable privacy regulations. Required Qualifications Diploma or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related healthcare field required. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification required. Or acquire within 30 days of hire. IV start up skills required for the use of echo contrast for 'Definity' on patients. Previous experience in echocardiography preferred. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular pathology. Skills and Competencies Proficiency in echocardiographic imaging techniques. Strong understanding of cardiac ultrasound equipment and technology. Excellent patient care and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Excellent organizational and documentation abilities. Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced clinical environment. Commitment to patient safety and quality care. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of echocardiography experience. Experience with 3D echocardiography, strain imaging, and contrast echocardiography. Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. ACLS certification preferred. Or within 30 days of hire date. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, and positioning of patients. Ability to lift or assist patients in accordance with facility guidelines. Manual dexterity required to operate ultrasound equipment.
