Job Description
Methodist Health System seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support diagnostic and interventional procedures in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you'll assist cardiologists in the cath lab with imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, sterile scrub, and contrast administration support while ensuring patient safety and comfort. You'll collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health staff in a fast-paced, team-focused environment that values integrity, compassion, and accountability. Responsibilities include procedure preparation, equipment operation, radiation safety, accurate documentation, and supporting quality and performance improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Assist cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures Set up and maintain a sterile field and prepare required equipment and supplies Operate imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and recording systems during procedures Monitor and document patient status, procedure details, and administered medications per protocol Adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards Perform equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and coordinate maintenance as needed Support emergency response during complex or unstable cardiovascular procedures Educate and reassure patients and families regarding procedures and post procedure care Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff to optimize workflow and outcomes Participate in quality improvement, procedure review, and staff education activities Required Skills Cardiac catheterization procedures Invasive hemodynamic monitoring Fluoroscopy and cath lab imaging operation Sterile technique and scrub assistance Radiation safety practices Cardiac anatomy and physiology Contrast administration support and monitoring for reactions Cardiac rhythm recognition and basic arrhythmia interpretation Electronic medical record and procedure documentation Equipment troubleshooting and quality control in cath lab
