The ACCESS Worker serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking outpatient behavioral health services. This position is responsible for responding to inquiries, assessing urgency, facilitating Rapid Access assessments, collecting required intake information, and coordinating with clinical and program staff to ensure timely and appropriate access to care. The ACCESS Worker plays a critical role in supporting client engagement, continuity of care, and efficient service delivery. Job Responsibilities Respond to inquiries for services, assess urgency, and inform clients of the Rapid Access assessment process. Complete all required initial call and intake documentation accurately and timely. Provide referrals, recommendations, and information regarding appropriate community services, as indicated. Collect and document insurance, financial, and demographic information. Coordinate and communicate with program and clinical staff to facilitate timely access to services. Conduct follow-up outreach to clients who miss scheduled appointments. Participate in outpatient staff meetings, in-service trainings, and supervisory sessions as directed by the Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services. Support ACCESS and administrative functions to enhance service delivery, as assigned by management. Maintain strict adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in accordance with VHS policies. Comply with all requirements outlined in the General Skills Evaluation. Perform other related duties as assigned by VHS management, without waiving the right to the grievance process.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's degree required. Preference given to candidates with a concentration in social services, psychology, counseling, or a related human services field.
Experience / Knowledge
Prior experience in behavioral health, human services, intake, access services, or care coordination preferred. Knowledge of community behavioral health resources and referral processes strongly preferred. Experience with electronic health records and basic computer applications required.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office environment within a community behavioral health organization. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess and monitor client needs and maintain accurate records. Fine motor skills required for legible written documentation and proficient computer use. Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive keyboard tasks. Ability to work required hours reliably and fulfill all essential job functions. Regular, predictable attendance required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of background check and any required registry clearances. Compliance with all VHS policies, procedures, and training requirements.
