This position plays a critical role in ensuring documentation meets federal, state, and payer requirements while supporting quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
Review and monitor patient records for completeness, accuracy, and timely submission. Audit admission documents, physician orders, plans of care, OASIS assessments, medication records, and discharge documentation. Ensure compliance with home health regulations, Medicare requirements, and company policies. Verify physician signatures, certifications, and PECOS enrollment requirements. Maintain secure and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Organize, file, retrieve, and manage active and discharged patient records. Monitor documentation completion and support timely final claim submissions. Develop and maintain efficient record management systems. Assist with staff orientation and provide support to clinical and administrative teams. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in medical records management, health information management, or home health administration preferred. Knowledge of home health documentation, OASIS, Medicare requirements, and medical terminology preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, and timemanagement skills. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. Professional communication and customer service skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications. Must successfully pass a criminal background check. Join our team!
