The Epic Ambulatory Analyst serves as the primary business and application owner for Epic Ambulatory workflows and functionality throughout Desert Oasis Healthcare (DOHC). This position functions as a strategic liaison between Information Systems, Clinical Operations, Population Health, Care Management, Quality Improvement, and Operational Leadership to ensure Epic technology supports organizational goals, provider efficiency, patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and value-based care initiatives. Professional Duties Serve as the primary application owner for Epic Ambulatory clinical and operational workflows. Analyze cross-functional workflows in collaboration with physicians, nursing, operational teams, and end users to identify opportunities, evaluate alternatives, and implement process improvements. Translate operational requirements into Epic system design, configuration, and optimization. Configure, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Ambulatory functionality in collaboration with Epic Garden Plot resources. Lead the workflow design sessions and recommend best-practice Epic solutions. Manage SmartTools governance, including SmartTexts, SmartPhrases, SmartLinks, SmartSets, order sets, preference lists, and documentation templates. Navigate application upgrades, releases, integrated testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live support. Develop training materials and provide end-user education for new functionality and workflow changes. Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues and perform root cause analysis. Escalate and coordinate with Epic support teams as needed. Support Healthy Planet, HEDIS, Medicare Stars, risk adjustment, quality improvement, and population health initiatives. Work cross functionally with operational leadership to improve provider efficiency, documentation quality, and user satisfaction. Participate in governance committees, change management activities, and operational workgroups. Maintain system documentation, build specifications, workflow diagrams, and change records. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, NCQA, and organizational policies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in information systems, healthcare informatics, nursing, healthcare administration, or related field. In lieu of degree 3 years of experience as an Epic Analyst required Epic Ambulatory Certification required. 3 years of experience in healthcare information systems is required. Experience supporting clinical workflows and experience with Epic Ambulatory, preferred Working Knowledge of common IT security-related regulations and/or standards. Familiarity with Healthy Planet, HEDIS, Medicare Advantage, quality reporting, and value-based care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Current California driver's license and proof of insurance.
