Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT professional with strong expertise in clinical and laboratory workflows and hands on experience with Oracle Cerner Millennium, preferably PathNet. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting EHR and LIS implementations or migrations, laboratory operations, requirements gathering, testing, go live support, and application sustainment. The candidate will serve as a liaison between laboratory end users, EHR vendors, system integrators, and technical teams while supporting workflow optimization, testing, integrations, training, regulatory activities, and PMO coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze, document, and optimize end to end laboratory clinical and business workflows across general laboratory, microbiology, transfusion medicine, and anatomic pathology environments as applicable
Support Oracle Cerner Millennium and PathNet design and build validation activities
Gather and document requirements through workbooks, workflow documentation, functional specifications, and decision support materials
Facilitate workshops with laboratory stakeholders and technical teams to identify requirements, actions, decisions, and workflow improvements
Serve as a liaison between EHR vendors, system integrators, laboratory end users, and project teams
Plan and execute wet and dry testing, validation activities, and go live readiness assessments
Support defect triage, functional retesting, and issue resolution to ensure safe laboratory operations
Support LIS and EHR migration and cutover planning activities
Partner with interface and integration teams to troubleshoot laboratory interfaces and results routing
Investigate HL7 related issues and coordinate result resends and reconciliation activities when required
Support training and adoption activities by reviewing training materials, training end users, and providing go live support
Support laboratory regulatory and quality activities including internal audits, CAP inspection readiness, and SOP alignment
Provide PMO and project coordination support including risk and issue tracking, schedules, status reporting, and meeting facilitation
Translate clinical and laboratory business needs into clear functional specifications
Collaborate with clinical leaders, laboratorians, technical teams, project managers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Required Skills:
3+ years of experience supporting healthcare IT in a clinical, operational, or analyst capacity
Significant experience working with laboratory operations and clinical laboratory workflows
Hands on experience with Oracle Cerner Millennium / Oracle Health
Experience with Cerner PathNet and laboratory related workflows
Experience supporting EHR or LIS implementations, migrations, or modernization initiatives
Experience with requirements gathering, testing, go live support, and application sustainment
Working knowledge of healthcare interfaces and integrations
Understanding of HL7 concepts and laboratory result flows
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience working with clinical leaders, laboratory professionals, and technical teams
Ability to create workflow maps, requirements documentation, test evidence, decision briefs, and status reports
Experience providing PMO or project coordination support
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in informatics, computer science, healthcare, biology, laboratory sciences, or a related discipline
Build experience with Cerner / Oracle Health is required
Preferred Skills:
Experience supporting federal healthcare or large enterprise modernization programs
Experience working within multi stakeholder governance and structured change control environments
Familiarity with reference laboratory connectivity and vendor coordination, including LabCorp or Quest
Experience with Cerner PowerChart components such as mPages, PowerForms, and Event Set Hierarchy
Oracle Cerner / Millennium certifications
PMP, Agile, Scrum, or similar project management credentials
Experience with laboratory quality and regulatory activities including CAP readiness, SOPs, and audits
Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulatory requirements
Experience supporting enterprise EHR and LIS transformation programs
Existing security clearance is a major advantage
Experience with PMO leadership and project governance activities
Education Requirement:
