Medical Records Release Clerk

Job Description

The Medical Records Release Clerk is responsible for processing, tracking, and fulfilling all requests for client health information across the agency's behavioral health and foster care programs. This role ensures that all releases of information comply with
HIPAA, 42 CFR
Part 2, state confidentiality laws, and agency policies. The clerk supports multiple locations and collaborates closely with clinical teams, case managers, foster care staff, and external partners to ensure timely, accurate, and secure handling of sensitive records.
Required Qualifications:
A. associate's degree, bachelor's degree preferred B. Experience in behavioral health, child welfare, or foster care settings. C. Experience in multi-location or fast-paced administrative environments. D. Familiarity with court orders, subpoenas, and legal documentation processes. E. Experience in medical records, health information management, or healthcare/social services administration. F. Understanding of HIPAA; willingness to learn 42 CFR Part 2 and foster care confidentiality laws. G. Proficiency with EHR systems and document management tools.
