Flexible schedule generally during business hours, minimum 3 days a week, but potential for greater hours depending on availability Responsibilities include maintaining safety and functionality of laboratory space, including but not limited to monitoring laboratory equipment, performing regular preventative maintenance and repairs as needed, tracking and managing inventory of consumables. While bulk of responsibilities will involve overseeing laboratory space, ideally manager will also assist with overseeing other areas incubator space including kitchen and printer area - restocking supplies and troubleshooting printer/copier as needed and performing or coordinating repairs as needed
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and functional laboratory space including work with internal and external safety and operations groups
  • Manage space use and proactively work with lab users and other stakeholders to ensure needs are understood and expectations managed
  • Collaborates regularly with lab users and management to identify and address any workflow bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and/or opportunities for process, logistical, or administrative improvements in the lab
  • Manage storage and inventory of internally made materials and stocks
  • Manages shipping and receiving for domestic and international shipments of lab materials, including the preparation of material for shipment and receipt from external parties
  • Manage orders of capital equipment and work with vendors and users to install and train
  • Monitor preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain and repair equipment directly and by coordinating with service vendors
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years experience working in a life science field in research laboratory setting
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Knowledge of local, state, and applicable federal regulations relating to lab safety including knowledge of regulations regarding biological and chemical material handling
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, good judgment, and the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and willingness to try and adapt new things
