Monday through Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (rotating on-call overnights, weekends, and holidays) Reports to:
Director of Hospital Services Pay Range:
$58-62/hour (DOE) Work modality: On-site Job Summary This position is responsible for performing laboratory testing on patient and donor samples, interpreting and reporting results, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures, participating in regulatory inspections and complying with all applicable local, state, federal laboratory requirements, and following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), FDA, CLIA, California Department of Health, OSHA, and AABB regulations. The IRL / Blood Bank Supervisor is generally responsible for day-to-day testing operations, managing personnel, training or retraining, monitoring PM schedules, and inventory and reagent control. This role also assists with outsourced donor testing, including reconciliation of results and working with QA on confirmatory testing. This is an active, "on the bench" leadership role that requires strong technical expertise to resolve complex testing issues in a fast-paced environment while managing staff and maintaining fiscal integrity.

Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills Education/Licenses/Experience Licensure:
Current, active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Immunohematology Scientist (CIS) license.
Experience:
3+ years of laboratory experience involving Blood Bank/Transfusion science Experience in IRL and Trauma Centers highly preferred.
Skills:
High attention to detail, ability to rapidly adapt to changing priorities, and exceptional communication skills for collaborative conflict resolution. Preferred Qualifications Specialist in Blood Banking SBB (ASCP) or BB (ASCP) certification.
