Job Description

WellSpan Health seeks a Medical Technologist/MLT to perform accurate, timely diagnostic testing that supports high-quality patient care. In this role, you will analyze blood and body fluids, validate and report results, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. You'll collaborate with physicians and clinical teams, use advanced laboratory instruments, and maintain precise documentation. Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on blood and body fluids following established protocols Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analyzers and laboratory equipment Validate, interpret, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures to meet regulatory standards Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to support patient care decisions Collect, label, and process specimens ensuring proper identification and handling Maintain accurate documentation in the laboratory information system (LIS) Adhere to safety, infection control, and compliance policies and procedures Participate in training, competency assessments, and continuing education Contribute to process improvement and support a collaborative, patient-centered culture Required Skills Clinical laboratory testing Hematology Chemistry analyzers Immunoassay testing Microbiology procedures Phlebotomy and specimen handling Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Quality control and quality assurance Regulatory compliance (CLIA/CAP/Joint Commission) Infection control and safety protocols
