Mercy is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will design, deliver, and evaluate clinical education programs that advance nursing practice and patient outcomes. You will lead orientation, competencies, and ongoing staff development, serving as a clinical expert and mentor at the bedside and in the classroom. Collaborating closely with nursing leadership, you'll support evidence-based practice, quality initiatives, and the successful adoption of new technologies and protocols. Responsibilities Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs for nursing staff Conduct orientation, competency assessments, and skills training for new and existing nurses Precept, mentor, and coach clinical staff to promote evidence-based practice Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify learning needs and quality improvement priorities Develop and update educational materials, policies, and procedures in line with best practices Support implementation of new technologies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements Participate in clinical rounds to identify educational opportunities at the point of care Use data and outcomes metrics to measure effectiveness of education initiatives Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and patient safety standards Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and compassionate care Required Skills Clinical education program development Adult learning principles Nursing practice and clinical skills Curriculum design and evaluation Evidence-based practice implementation Competency assessment and validation Electronic health record (EHR) systems Quality improvement and patient safety Presentation and facilitation skills Data analysis and outcomes measurement
