Oak and Cedar North Bay (Solano County, Vacaville, Vallejo and Napa), Community-Based Day Program About Oak and Cedar North Bay Oak and Cedar North Bay is a Community-Based, Behavioral Day Program serving adults with developmental disabilities. We are committed to supporting individuals in becoming active, valued members of their local community by helping them build skills, increase independence, and meaningfully participate in community life. Position Summary Community Specialists are responsible for providing direct, person-centered support to program participants. This includes implementing strategies from Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), facilitating social and community-based activities, and helping individuals achieve personal goals. This role does not include personal care such as toileting, feeding, or hygiene tasks. Community Specialists are considered Mandated Reporters and are required to report any suspected abuse in accordance with California Mandated Reporting Requirements. Scheduled hours are subject to change and are not guaranteed. Work availability is dependent upon client participation, program census, and operational demands. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have the physical ability to move and navigate in the community at least 50% of the time. Must have a vehicle and willing to transport up to 2 clients in their car Must have Auto Insurance and list Oak and Cedar North Bay as Secondary Insured Must hold valid CPR/First Aid certification (Training paid for by OACNB). Must receive Department of Justice clearance through Live Scan. Must be willing to work an On-Duty Lunch as part of the paid shift. Duties and Responsibilities Work at a 1:2 staff-to-client ratio. Transport participants in a personal vehicle. Promote Person-Centered Thinking, client choice, and independence. Provide support in recreation, socialization, health and safety, communication, community inclusion, and self-advocacy. Maintain participant schedules and routines, perform record keeping, and complete required documentation. Perform skills training as identified in ISPs, including community inclusion, social skill building, skill acquisition, and behavioral support. Work with individuals who have a history or current pattern of physical aggression. Participate in the assessment process, collect data, and write reports. Attend required trainings and staff meetings. Complete other duties as assigned. Schedule Typically Monday through Friday, typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Paid on-duty lunch is included. Scheduled hours may vary if clients cancel, and work may not be available during those times Compensation Hourly pay range: $18.72 to $25.20 Benefits Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance available to eligible employees
