Job Overview Join our dedicated team as an Overnight Warming Center Attendant, where you will play a vital role in providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness during overnight hours. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help ensure that residents feel secure and cared for throughout their stay. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable populations by offering stability, crisis support, and essential services during the overnight shift. You will be responsible for maintaining safety protocols, managing guest needs, and fostering a respectful community atmosphere. Responsibilities Monitor the warming center environment overnight to ensure safety, security, and comfort for all guests. Conduct regular security checks, including manual handling and surveillance to prevent incidents or unauthorized access. Provide crisis intervention and conflict management when necessary, de-escalating tense situations with effective communication and behavioral health techniques. Assist guests with intake procedures, documentation, and data collection while maintaining strict guest confidentiality. Support individuals with behavioral health conditions or substance use disorders through compassionate engagement and appropriate referrals. Facilitate communication between guests, social workers, healthcare providers, and families to coordinate care and support services. Administer basic first aid or medication as authorized and required by policy; respond promptly to medical emergencies using CPR if needed. Maintain detailed records through data entry, filing, and accurate documentation of incidents or guest interactions. Uphold safety standards by following manual handling procedures, practicing de-escalation techniques, and ensuring the facility remains secure throughout your shift. Maintain clear and healthy boundaries between self and guests. Other duties as assigned. Skills Experience in social services or community settings preferred; capable of managing group dynamics effectively. Knowledge of security protocols, crisis intervention strategies, and de-escalation techniques essential for high-risk populations. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or mental health conditions; familiarity with addiction and substance use is a plus. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to document incidents clearly and engage empathetically with guests. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data collection, reporting, and case management documentation. Can be trained First Aid and CPR certification and/or training will be mandatory and provided if hired. Ability to handle manual tasks safely while supporting guest' needs with compassion and professionalism. Pay:
