Certified Dental Assistant Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant/Front Office to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental practice and contribute to the overall success of our team. Must be punctual and reliable for all assigned days of work.
Duties:
Courteous and Professional Demeaner to all patients, staff, and the doctor
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring cleanliness and organization
Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including taking X-rays, applying topical anesthetics, and passing instruments
Provide chairside assistance to the dentist, anticipating their needs and ensuring efficient workflow
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
Explain the importance of diagnosed dental treatment and coverage to patients
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using dental software systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft
Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment using proper aseptic techniques
Manage inventory of dental supplies and order new materials as needed
Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
Help with any front office duties and insurance eligibilities as needed
Experience:
Previous experience (2+ years) as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist is required
Experience with dental terminology and procedures
Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and maintaining accurate dental documentation
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
