We believe in fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment, and we are looking for a part-time Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant (RDA or OA) to support our orthodontic team part-time. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and assisting with various clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including placing and removing braces, applying archwires, and taking impressions
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards
Educate patients on oral hygiene and care for orthodontic appliances
Manage patient records, including taking and documenting medical histories and treatment records
Ensure that the treatment area is clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies
Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with the front office staff
Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while working with patients, families, and team members.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Orthodontic Assistant (OA)
Previous experience in an orthodontic practice preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Basic knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology and procedures
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Proficient in utilizing dental software and technology.
