Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant (RDA or OA) to support our orthodontic team part-time. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and assisting with various clinical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including placing and removing braces, applying archwires, and taking impressions
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care for orthodontic appliances
• Manage patient records, including taking and documenting medical histories and treatment records
• Ensure that the treatment area is clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with the front office staff
• Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while working with patients, families, and team members.

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Orthodontic Assistant (OA)
• Previous experience in an orthodontic practice preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology and procedures
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Proficient in utilizing dental software and technology.
