Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols. Take dental X-rays and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Open Dental and Dexis ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Conduct chairside assisting duties, including preparing materials for procedures and providing support to the dentist as needed. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when required. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain an organized dental clinic environment that promotes efficiency and patient comfort. Skills Proficient in using EMR systems, particularly Open Dental and Dexis. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience with general dentistry, prosthodontics, and medical terminology is preferred. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively while assisting the dentist during procedures. Competence in taking X-rays and utilizing 3D scanners for dental imaging. Strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental practices. Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred, but not mandatory.
