Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and safety protocols. This role offers an opportunity to support general dentistry practices while contributing to the health and well-being of our community. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures in accordance with infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Assist dentists during various procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing chairside assisting techniques and knowledge of dental terminology. Take and develop dental X-rays using dental X-ray equipment and 3D scanners, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, maintaining medical records securely, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions to foster comfort and trust. Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and coordinating patient flow efficiently. Follow strict clinical confidentiality policies while adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software. Hands-on experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization protocols, and infection prevention management. Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards. Strong understanding of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners and other digital imaging tools. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or oral surgery is advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team using four-handed dentistry techniques in fast-paced clinical environments.
