Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant with a strong background in clinical support and patient care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of dental procedures, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced dental environment. Experience in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, or prosthodontics is a plus. This role offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to patient health and comfort while supporting our team of dental professionals in delivering exceptional care. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including intraoral and extraoral images, adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessment and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive care strategies. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical and dental information with professionalism. Support dental sterilization procedures and infection control standards to uphold the highest levels of safety within the clinic. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with dental equipment operation, including 3D scanners, dental sterilization devices, and other clinical tools. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry practices for efficiency and patient comfort. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and general dentistry protocols. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection control policies. Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records, medical imaging documentation, and patient flow. Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, team members, and external providers.
