Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic by providing excellent patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, infection control protocols, and excellent communication skills to foster a positive environment for both patients and staff. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared in advance. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse, as needed. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting surfaces, and ensuring all supplies are stocked. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of medical terminology. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling medical coding when necessary. Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. Skills Proficiency in infection control practices and knowledge of aseptic techniques. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Understanding of medical terminology relevant to general dentistry. Experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently. Strong assisting skills to support the dentist during various procedures. Knowledge of medical coding systems is a plus but not required. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
